Practically the whole world has gotten obese since 1975 by a factor of 300-400%, and COVID would have been far less of a problem in 1975. Why does God ordain for COVID-19 to come now, when 75-80% of the serious cases are weight issues? Eliminating this factor, COVID death rates are about the same as the flu for the 65+ crowd, and COVID is far less lethal for the under 40-crowd. The Stage 2 Obese group is hospitalized at a rate of 42 per 10,000, the Stage 1 Obese group at 23 per 10,000, the Overweight group at 18 per 10,000, and the normal weighted group at only 13 per 10,000. That's a sample size of 340,000 taken in the UK. We discuss the problem and sins attendant to obesity on this edition of the program.

Great Sermon! Good points. I believe the obesity epidemic is a reflection of us turning away from God in how we grow and produce food. Our food is depleted of nutrients, processed in a way that makes it addictive and unsatisfying and has additives that should never be considered food. When I used to eat that way I was always hungry! Gatorade is a perfect example of something that should not be consumed, but I too used to think it necassary. The only way to beat the obesity epidemic is to turn back to God and get to work in our kitchens and source nutrient dense food.

Great Sermon! Both carbs and being sedentary are the culprit. Hundreds of years ago people eat less and move a lot (no cars, media, etc.). Fruits and other foods were scarce. They eat what the grow.
Exercising alone will not help if you do not consider the food you eat.
