The tragedy is that many in that day will cry "Lord, Lord" to which He will respond "depart from me I never knew you". Probably nothing else is more tragic than to go through life thinking that you are a disciple of Jesus only to find out in the end that you were as much in bondage to and under sin as a person sitting on a bar stool. Jesus did not come simply to give us knowledge but He came to give us life. That life will produce a hunger for Him and freedom from sin and freedom to do the will of God.
