Learning How to Celebrate Christmas. Matthew 1:11; Luke 2:1-18How are you going to celebrate Christmas this year? The best teachers are the characters in the bible. We can learn how to celebrate Christmas from the shepherds, the Magi and the saints of God in the Temple which is Simeon and Anna.God's timing is always perfect. Anna came up just as Simeon was praising the Lord for the Child Jesus, so she joined in the song! I would like to have heard these elderly people singing in the temple! Their praise was inspired by the Spirit of God, and God accepted it. But Anna did much more than sing; she also spread the Good News among the other faithful members of "the remnant" who were waiting for the redemption of Israel.Christmas is the story of how Jesus came to save us from our sins. Our salvation is due to his coming and Christmas ought to be celebrated by giving thanks for our salvation. We can celebrate Christmas by presenting him with a gift. It is tragic that we will give gifts to everyone but Jesus. He deserves a gift of our time, tithe, and talents.Jesus is the king of kings, the great high priest, and the Savior of the world. He is worthy of all we can give him.
