God does not see things the way we do, but we need to learn to see things the way God does. The most quoted Psalm in the New Testament is Psalm 110. Jesus takes that familiar Psalm and brings it up to the people over and over again. David refers to the One descended from him as his Lord. Jesus is not just the rightful heir to David's throne, Jesus is God incarnate, David's Lord. Many people don't recognize who Jesus is. In Jesus's teaching from this passage, Jesus undermines the teachings of the religious leaders. What is impressive to people is not important to God. If God approves of what we do, it does not matter what other people think. We do not want to be displeasing to the Lord. God is not impressed when we give Him the surplus, more than we can use. The Bible says if we have food and clothing, we should be content with that. What could we live without that we have right now? What will we do with what we have? When God saw the woman with the two small coins, He saw her heart. We need to take all we have and yield it to Him and not delay.
