In the final chapter we find Nehemiah returning to Jerusalem to confront various sins where he demand repentance and quick actions to bring restoration. The chapter shows Nehemiah confronting three sins ending each section with prayer. There are violations of God's house, where one of Nehemiah's enemies has actually been given sanctuary. Nehemiah also confronts the violations of God's Sabbath and the recurring sin of intermarriage with the surrounding pagan nations.
Pastor Stoos shows how all of this is a clear example of how we are to face living the “normal” Christian life described by the Apostle Paul in Romans chapters seven and eight. God's people must repent of their sins and return to covenant faithfulness remembering to pray without ceasing!
