This is a study of Paul's first epistle, the epistle to the Church at Thessalonica. This is the first epistle that Paul ever wrote. Thessalonica was a Roman Colony city, right in the heart of the Roman empire, with a rich, long and varied history. This passage deals with the day of the Lord, when after millenniums of His great patience and compassion displayed, He will pour out His wrath on the Christ hating and unrepentant evil ones on this earth. The day of wrath will not include the body of Christ, because we are not of the night but of the day and all by His grace, Sons of light. He has not destined His bride to be, for the wrath that He will pour out on the Christ rejecting world. Because He died for us, we can be sure that He will remove His own body from the Christ rejecting earth, before He pours out His just and righteous wrath. This is a study of the gift of eternal life that He has given to all who trust Jesus Christ to save them by His death for their sins and His burial, and resurrection. At the last day for the church He will raise up all those who are in Christ and give them a body like His own glorified body. It is our privilege to be a comfort to each other as we share the truths of Scripture. Here the truths of going to be with Him and being spared the wrath of God which will fall on this earth are to be used to bring about this comfort.
