Our Lord had spoken many blessed and wonderful truths to His disciples, as they sat in that upper chamber. Yet, now He would explain to them that with such great blessings also come great responsibility and persecution.
He longs that they understand this so that when the time comes they would not be offended. That they not fall from their own steadfastness, waver or drift away from their profession.
These blessed words still remain a great comfort to God's children today. May we receive them in their fulness and be prepared to suffer all things for Christ, and never be offended.
