The writer to the Hebrews submits concerning Christ, on the premise of our Lord's Superiority over all things. And in this thesis statement; He affirms and sets the stage concerning the uniqueness of Christianity, as opposed to Judaism. In proving the sufficiency of Christ, three (3) reminders are given: A. Reminder #1 Is Of The Commencement Of Divine Revelation – v1 "God, having spoken long ago to the fathers…" God was/is– the source and origin of all revelations, as recorded both in the Old and New Testament writings. God spoke concerning the Seed of Genesis. 3v15, regarding redemption. Thus, the whole metanarrative centers on – discovering 'who the seed is of – Gen. 3v15). B. Reminder#2 Is Of The Continuation Of Divine Revelation – v2. "…God …Spoke 'long time' Or in time past,…in the prophets, in many ways…" – v1. Gradual series of revelations and discovery of God's mind & Will, as revealed in the usage of the Three (3) Adverbs: (i) in the prophets; (ii) in many portion and (iii) in many ways C. Reminder # 3: Is Of The Completion Of Divine Revelation – v1 "in these last days He has spoken to us thru His Son…" – The Son, As The Final Word of God (1) c.f.
