Hear My Defense Before You Now
When Paul is given an opportunity to address the mob in Jerusalem, he relates how he understands them. He was a Jew. He was zealous for the law. He was persecuting the Way. As he stands in chains in Jerusalem, he describes how he brought others in chains to Jerusalem. But then Jesus Christ showed Himself to him. God shined forth more brightly than the noonday sun. Christ then sent Paul to Damascus to do the work that Paul has been appointed to do. After Ananias came to him and God used him to restore Pauls' sight, he told Paul that God has sent him to be a His witness to all men. Ananias then said "now why are you waiting? Arise, and be baptized, wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord." Get about what you are to be doing. Maybe we be a people who are not waiting to do God's will, but zealously to push forward to do what He would have us to do.
