Scripture Reading: Gal. 4:1-7. 2 Sam. 15:30-31; 16: 5-14. Since God is good, we must trust & call out to Him. I. Trust Your God v.1 A. David's personal relationship allowed him to trust God & His righteousness. B. David recalls past deliverance's. 1.) This gives David the confidence to call out to God. C. David prays to God & God alone. 1.) He doesn't turn to other people. 2.) God wants us to call out to Him & Him alone. 3.) Let Him be our main source of deliverance. II. Remember Who God Hears. vs. 2-5 A. David addresses both his enemies and friends. 1.) He starts by talking to his enemies with a rebuke. How long will you willfully be deceived? B. God sets apart the Godly for Himself. 1.) A man who loves God with his whole heart; His laws, commandments will translate that love into Godly actions. C. David's encouragement for his friends. 1.) Meditate on God to take comfort in His power. 2.) Be still. (easy to say, hard to do.) III. Rest in Your Good God. vs. 6-8 A. Rest in the light of His face. Take encouragement in His countenance. B. Rest in His gifts of joy. C. Rest in His peace.
