We will be celebrating Thanksgiving this week, and there is always much to be thankful for. What are you thankful for? Well, you may be in a bad season right now, and it may not seem like there is much to be thankful for right now. Indeed, people often think, even if they do not say, that they have nothing to be thankful for.
Well, all Christians can truly say that as well. We truly have nothing to be thankful for. Listen up and you will see what I mean, clearly, from the Scriptures. Christians can truly give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18) because we can be thankful for nothing. If you ask what am I preaching about, or when someone asks you what did he preach about, just tell them I preached about “nothing”. Today we are going to redeem the word “nothing”. And when someone asks you why you are so excited, you can answer, “It is nothing, really”.
Remember, even when you think you have nothing to be thankful for, you can be thankful for nothing. Jesus still had to go the cross, but for the love He showed us by His silence in this trial, we can truly say, “Thanks for nothing”. |
