We either believe the source because of its credentials or we believe it because we trust the source. When it comes to biblical truth they don't really care how much you know until they know how much you care. Because biblical truth is so different from what the world teaches and requires so much giving instead of taking and pushes hard on people they are reluctant to adopt those changes until they know you are a trusted source. Even then it's challenging. Truth is just noise and talents are self-serving unless they are used in genuine love.
