Where Do We Fit In? Ephesians 1:1-6;2 Timothy 2:1-4;1 Peter 4:10 when we realize where we fit into God's master plan, we discover just how exciting it is to be a child of God. As you know, the Bible gives many names, terms and words to associate with the role a believer play. Yet, as we look at the overall picture of the church collectively, how can we gain a picture of our lives individually and see where we fit in? Of particular interest this election cycle is the religious identity of voters, a factor that appears, at least to me, more important than it has been in recent presidential elections. Both the Biden and Trump campaigns have appointed coordinators to reach out to faith communities. Nothing divides like politics, because nothing divides like fear. But what exactly, in the context of our current election, are we afraid of? The answer is the same for everyone at the macro level: we fear loss. We are afraid of losing control, safety, power, opportunity, status, rights, freedom. White people fear what might happen. Black people fear what has already happened and what might happen next. We all fear the unknown. I believe in these 3 passages of scripture; we discover where God puts and places us to fit into His blueprint of the kingdom of God. WHERE DO WE FIT IN?1. We are SAINTS to God's GLORY! 2.We are SOLDIERS in God's ARMY! 3.We are STEWARDS for God's FAMILY! What a tragedy it would be to stand before God and look back upon a life which failed to give Him its very best. To think that we would stand before the One who gave His best to us; and discover that we failed to give our best to Him.
