Do you make much of Christ? We cannot be as the Pharisees, who made much of outward show and ceremonies, and omitted the weightier matters of the law. The world should so dry up our souls that we thirst for Christ. Our salvation is to a lively relationship with Christ. We should be growing in love for Him, and ever seeking Him and to be like Him. This is why 1 Corinthians 16:22 tells us: "If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha." There is a reason that Hebrews 1 opens with the fact that God appointed Christ heir of all things. "Heir" is not in reference to Christ's rule of creation, but concerning His perfect work of redemption and mediatorship. Psalm 2:8 says, "Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession."
