We have forsaken our Christian heritage and become a nation aptly described as “lovers of themselves.” As 2 Tim 3:1-5 says, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5having a form of godliness but denying its power.” We in America have a form of Christianity, but lack the power of God for essential godliness. We don't want to believe Psalm 9:17, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God,” applies to the United States of America. Revive us, oh Lord! |
