In this scripture passage, Dr. Luke records the prayer the early church prayed after Peter and John were jailed and then released and threatened by the religious leaders. Their prayer teaches us the importance of remembering the great God to whom we pray, the importance of praying in God’s will, and the powerful result of their prayer. They prayed that God would enable them to continue preaching Jesus Christ boldly in spite of the threat of the religious leaders. Their prayer is an excellent model for us as they were described a being devoted to prayer.
