This week, we be studying Exodus 2:11-15 after Moses grows up, he went to his brethren. Even though he was trained in all of wisdom of Egypt, he still considered himself a Hebrew. When he saw one being beaten by an Egyptian, he killed the Egyptian after checking to make sure that he would not be seen. It is clear from Acts 7, that he did this because he understood and thought the Hebrews would understand that God would deliver them by his hand. When he returned the next day and tried to stop a Hebrew from beating another, the Hebrew's response was: "who made you a prince and judge over us?" Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh who tried to kill him into Midian. This is an interesting passage that we can understand much better when we consider what Acts 7 and Hebrews 11 says about it. This passage is about Moses being tempted by the power and wisdom of the Egyptian court, but he was willing to sacrifice it all because he esteemed the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of the world. We should make certain that we do as well.
