This passage is a result of Absalom's rebellion. Our circumstances may not be as bad as David's but we still have trials in our lives. The same God who delivered David is there for us. I. Cry Out to God When You Feel Like Doubting. A. Doubt Rises from Increased Opposition. 1.) David was used to success during his reign. B. Doubt also comes from personal attacks. 1.) David knew he had forgiveness from God but he still remembered his sin and he lost confidence when his enemies brought those sins up. 2.) We can be tempted to turn to people for sympathy when we should look to God. II. Remember God's Faithful Acts. A. He is a faithful, protecting God. 1.) He's a shield that surrounds and protects every area of our life. 2.) He restores our glory since He is to be our glory. We should take pride and honor in being His child. B. An answering God. 1.) He always hears and always answers. C. A rest-giving God. 1.) Our lives are in God's hands, that should give us the confidence to trust Him for both great and small things in our life. D. A confidence-giving God. 1.) We can trust His perfect faithfulness. III. Cry Out to Your God for Deliverance. A. Appeal for God's deliverance. B. Be confident in your God. 1.) Salvation belongs to God. C. He asks that we call out to Him. Who are you turning to for your salvation?
