1. Notice who it is that Jesus called to service. The Apostles were already part of Jesus' disciples. They were already following Jesus because they desired to be with him and learn life from him. Notice that Jesus called "those whom He desired." 2. Consider the duties of service. Jesus first appointed the Apostles to be with Him. This is our highest duty. If you are not with Jesus, you are wasting your life. What should you expect if you strive to be a faithful servant? 3. Mark 20-21 gives an example of what happens to those who serve Christ.
