In the Scripture, God's grace is "unmerited favor." While accurate, this definition does not do justice to the depth of meaning in the grace of God's salvation. God's grace is not simply receiving favor we do not deserve, it is not receiving what we deserve because of our sin. Salvation is the gift of God, period. Insisting that God consider my works as supplemental to Christ's works in justification is to corrupt what is perfect and render worthless the priceless gift of our Savior.
