In this second message in a series on Galatians, we see Paul defending himself against the charge of the Judaizers that he was not a legitimate apostle. He saw that the gospel was at stake, because if these Jews could convince the Gentile converts of Galatia that Paul did not have apostolic authority, they might also be able to convince them that they needed to be circumcised and keep the ceremonial law in order to be saved. This is a different gospel than the one Paul taught, which had, at its heart, the doctrine of justification by faith alone.
