There is harmony within the trinity.
The love of the Father, the love of the Son and the love of the Holy Spirit is part of that wonderful and glorious harmony of the trinity.
Calvary is not only an evidence of the love of the Son but it is also evidence of the harmony and love of the Father, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,'.
Calvary is not only a demonstration of the love of Jesus, it is also a demonstration of the love of a completely harmonious trinity all in one accord.
We were without strength, there was no possiblity of seeing any kind of goodness in us. We were dead! We were dead in sins and trepasses.
Therefore, God had to come and save us, all of the saving is from God. We could not save ourselves, we could not even help in the saving of ourselves. IT WAS ALL FROM GOD.
Could you give one reason why God should save you, could I give one reason why God should save me. No! we cannot. All we can say, is that God loves us and saves us because He loves us.
We were enemies of God, an enmity in our hearts towards God.
We were reconciled to God, in our sin we were under the wrath of God. but seen in our human perspective, without God's attitude being changed, we would have had no hope, yet in the death of His Son on our behalf, God's attitude was changed and now we have peace with God.
We hated God, not only ignored God, but we were enemies under the wrath of God, yet in his love, we love him who first loved us. |
