They were on staff with The Navigators for more than 50 years.
She was an accomplished author and sought-after speaker, had traveled the world and started a Bible Study movement on the North Shore of Chicago. However, she may be best remembered for her friendship, transparency and wisdom. She sought depth in her relationship with God and with people. If you stopped by, she would likely invite you to sit down, have a cup of coffee and chat awhile. She wrote numerous books, including “From the Heart of a Woman,” and “Marriage Takes More Than Love,” co-authored with Jack. Carole was thoughtful, interesting and sometimes a bit feisty. Her favorite roles involved her connections to family and friends. Her most treasured identity was “Child of God.” She is pre-deceased by her husband of 66 years, Jack Mayhall, her brother, Kent Hoekzema and sister Joye Server. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Westberg (Tim,) grandchildren Eric Westberg and Sunny Blancato and four great-grandchildren. | more | less
