Ever feel like everyone around you seems to catch a break and you don’t? Are you plagued with “why” questions in your life?
“Why can’t I get that job?”
“Why can’t I get the girl?”
“Why do I have to work twice as hard as the next person for half the reward?”
Maybe these aren’t your questions, but chances are that you do ask questions that are similar in nature. In a sense, we have all experienced some form of this thought-process at some point. This is the stronghold of a victim mentality. It’s the belief that everything good always happens to everyone else and you get nothing.
The Bible says that we are actually recipients of the greatest good imaginable! We were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. We are adopted sons and daughters through Jesus, redeemed through His blood, forgiven of our sins, and the riches of God’s grace are “lavished” upon us. (Ephesians 1:4-8)
The book of Romans tells us that we are “more than conquerors” through Him who loved us.
Romans 8:31-32 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
We are assured that in Christ we have the promise of God’s infinite spiritual blessings that far surpass any earthly desires we could strive for. We also have the love of Christ that brings us our peace.
Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
The resounding answer? NO one and NO thing.
Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Whatever you go through in life, whatever promotion you get passed up for or perceived injustice that you experience, remember that you are NOT a victim. That stronghold needs to be demolished right now.
The truth is that you are MORE than a conqueror through Him who loves you.
