In a democracy we like to think that whatever gets the most votes ought to be the law. We have a majority rule which is very good, but not always perfect. I like this form of government and I do not desire to have a dictator. Lord forbid that we should ever lose our freedom! A theocracy, which means God Ruling, is what Israel had before they rebelled against God and wanted a king. Many today do not want Him ruling over their lives.

The Bible gives the story of Moses and how he led them out of bondage and finally into the Promised Land. But we see in Numbers 11:4, “And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?” The majority began to whine, whimper and complain to Moses, God’s servant. The majority was wrong.

On other occasions they refused to cross on over Jordan with the advice of the two spies, Joshua and Caleb, who told them they were well able to accomplish the mission. The majority was wrong again.

The great majority of Americans are wrong to listen to Hollywood rather than God. We seem too prone to follow Satan and all his glitter and charm rather than God. But my friends, you must remember that most people are going to Hell. Only a small minority will be in Heaven. Listen to God in Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few (not many) there be that find it.”
