Every once in a while we find a man or woman who will serve God faithfully regardless of what it costs, even if it means death. So precious they are, but oh how few there are.

Judas Iscariot in Matthew 26:15-16 said, “And said unto them, what will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.” Judas surely did sell out cheap! He sold out for money that never did him a nickel’s worth of good. Are you for sale? We pray you are not.

But many in our day are selling out to the devil for less than Judas received. Some sell their eternal souls for a few minutes of physical pleasure which can often cause a horrible disease like aids. Some sell their soul and their savior for just a little of nothing.

We often think about Joseph and how his brothers sold him into slavery; just anything for a little money. But God was watching over Joseph and allowed him to go from the pit to the palace before it was all over. Joseph was a Christian in the pit, and he was a faithful God fearing Christian as a slave. Don’t forget he was all for God in the jail house. He never faltered no matter how bad he was treated. After many dangers, toils and snares, he was still Joseph, the obedient child of God. He served God in the valley, and it’s no wonder he was headed for the mountain top!

One day God reached down and gave Joseph a promotion and it just continued until Joseph was number two man in all of Egypt. You know the story of how his wicked brothers would have come to him in Egypt for food. I mean those who hated him, threw him in a pit and finally sold him into slavery, now had to look up to him for bread. Joseph was directed of God to be kind and feed them, and give them a home in Goshen.
