This is the end of the Lord's prayer and we arrive where we began in the utmost confidence that He will give us all things needed for our body and our soul. Now, in a little different form...."Thine is the Kingdom, the Power...AMEN! God will grant even before we ask! The will of God is no longer a petition being asked for but rather a CONFESSION and absent of all doubt. Not a wish list or a question mark behind this petition but we KNOW we will be given everything needed to His praise and to His glory!
Basis: This utterance of praise is extremely bold with intonation increasing. The content of all the child of God's petitions come to climax here in the word "for." The basis and assurance is sure in the content prayed for were all for the glory of God and His kingdom! The content of all that we ask for is found here as our confidence is in God as He gives us all things necessary and needed.
Content: Not mind, but "THINE IS..." Not mine, but GOD'S glory! We pray eschatological that we pray for a kingdom that is sure. A kingdom that is the rule of God in Christ in our hearts that accomplishes His glory. That is the kingdom! And it is that kingdom that marks the content of our prayer. Though that kingdom is coming it IS! Though we see an anti-christian kingdom forming be assured without question that it is GOD'S! "Thine is the power." God is the dynamo and it is His power that accomplishes His good pleasure through all of history. Not governors, pharaohs, or the kingdoms here below, but God's power and his pleasure! We, as His children are not dependant on the graces of this world. It is God who is sovereign and He ALWAYS accomplishes His will by His power! And it is all HIS GLORY which is in and through all things forever. His kingdom, His power, and His glory forever and forever!
Certainty: It is a matter of faith. As we see things progress in our lives and in this world we cannot show the world evidence of or even convict them of these things, but we know by faith that these things are SURE. Men who do not give God the glory now will one day do so in the day of days and we will enjoy that glory into all of eternity! Not about us, but all for God's glory as He accomplishes it in the coming of His kingdom. And we conclude our prayer with an AMEN. Not a closing to prayer, but contemplate that "it will truly and certainly be!" Every carnality will be wiped from our prayers when we contemplate this word. And then we can be sure as we pray for all things that they are for God's glory and about His kingdom and His glory and we can add an exclamation point to the end of our prayers knowing that what we prayed for will certainly be!
