True change begins in a regenerated spirit, but the transformation does not cease with the new birth. After our spirit is made new, God continues this work of remaking us, changing our minds through the word of Truth, the Scriptures. This process will be an ongoing work for all of the days we have remaining in our lives. In our flesh, we are constantly challenging the authority of God's Word with our thoughts, our opinions, our desires... it takes only the briefest of moments to see the unending flood of arguments and pretensions that are bandied about (and fought about) on social media, strutted in mainstream entertainment and proclaimed by pretenders masquerading as preachers whose every statement challenges the absolute authority of scripture to guide and govern our behavior and our minds.
While the flesh is constantly seeking to free itself of God's control, those who have been given a new spirit are in the fight on the other side. We understand that the only way to see our lives aligned with God is to see our minds renewed according to His truth. We don't care what the culture thinks or says, we care what God says. And we KNOW what God says because He has given us His word. Unchanging, unerring, undisputable (try as we might). The absolute truth of God's Word unites us in our minds. We think in unified ways because we have been given the mind of Christ. The more we submit ourselves to the Word as our absolute authority, the more united we become. Beloved, the God of all truth, the only God who IS, the great I AM, has called us to submit to His truth. To position ourselves as SLAVES to the Word of God. What HE says, we believe and we obey. Period. There is simply no other option for a blood bought child of God.
