This Lord's day lays its finger on the heart and soul of the Lord's supper as it points it directly at the mass. Fact: The Lord's supper testifies and speaks to us. It testifies of the Word of God in scripture that we have full pardon of our sins! The writer to the Hebrews shows us the old testament priest who was typical and had to offer for the people and for himself and notes that it never forgave and atoned for one sin. Our Lord typified in the old testament can hold His blood sacrifice before the Father in Heaven and say we are completely vindicated! The Apostle Paul speaks of this very fact often. There is NO condemnation and nothing that can separate us from the love of our Lord Jesus Christ! The devil whispers in all of our ears and we are sometimes tried and overwhelmed with our sins, but know that they are taken care of!

Denial: That fear brought into the children in the past made God's people buy indulgences. The sacrifices daily offered in the Roman Catholic Church to cover the penalty of sin for the living and the dead. You can see that is why the fathers called this an accursed idolatry as they believed the elements were literally changed into the very body and blood of Christ and then re-offered unto God for atonement and the forgiveness of sins. They worship an idol as they believe the elements change. It is Christ crucified and the power of the Living God made unto us sanctification and redemption! Once offered on the cross fulfilling all of the old testament types and typicals!
