This is an unsavory question that is very unpopular. Are all who perish in Adam saved in Christ? It is unpopular because the whole human race is NOT saved. Many in nominal churches believe most will be or will be given the chance to enter into Heaven. Regeneration's impact is directed to the preaching of the Word and is how God works with the key being FAITH! The work of salvation is of God and God alone who quickens through regeneration and then and then only can one be responsive as Scripture states.

Character: We must be sure when we talk about faith. Some talk of a vague belief in a "greater being" or a subjective feeling. Faith is the connection to Christ and receiving His blessings. It is something we have NOTHING to do with. It is spoken from the viewpoint of a bond. We are engrafted into Christ and receive His benefits. (These are passive ideas.) Christ engrafts by a true and living faith. "And you hath He quickened!" No one can resurrect himself spiritually. Just like roots do not just grow into another root system. Faith is FIRST a bond to God made in Christ whereby we are made partakers of all His benefits. Subjective? Can a young, immature baby make a mature decision? It is ALWAYS the bond that UNITES us to Christ! The Lord does bring that bond to life and that which He applies spiritually by God He preaches the Gospel invariably to bring that work He has done to bring about and bring to a living, vibrant subjective faith! (That is why you can preach and nothing will occur without His implanting of faith in a person.) His Gospel becomes the power of salvation whereby He quickens that implanted life within us and we then say "I believe!"

Elements: There are two elements. Knowledge and Confidence. The Gospel preaching and the reaction. First, the Holy Spirit steers us in the knowledge of scripture and we press it to our bosoms and it becomes our knowledge and confidence and we KNOW them to be true! This is not just a book knowledge or knowing about something. Invariably, He brings us under the preaching of the Gospel and works in generations and families and makes our children teachable and we are but MEANS of the living God who implants. He quickens within them the subjective knowledge of the truth! This is the very reason we put a premium on the means of grace! Faith is also NOT based on feeling but on the concrete. The Word of God is concrete! And this knowledge MUST have a spiritual realm. An intellectual knowledge whereby they have a spiritual knowledge. And what you KNOW you are CONFIDENT in! The child of God KNOWS that His Word is the TRUTH of the matter BY FAITH! That knowledge is so sure we can live in that confidence! That is our comfort!
