We headed early from Rybnik for a 3 hour ride to Aradek, Czech Republic. It was a cloudy and cool day. We had to wait for about a half hour at the Czech border to get through. Then we were off again.
As we approached Aradek, we could see the church far in the distance about halfway up the mountainside. It was a steep ride up the road to get to the church.
We were welcomed by Pastor Stanislov Stebel, pastor of the Czech Brethren church. A wonderful hot meal was waiting for us, prepared by several ladies from the church.
Pastor Stebel related the history of the church. It was formerly a pub which attracted tourists from around the area in the late 1800's. Then a revival came to the area and many were converted and came to Christ. Since they had stopped drinking alcohol, the pub was closed. It was then made into a church.
The seminar began at 4 PM and Bruce and Julie gave their presentations, which were well received. Nels and Ellen also led a group in the Quick Start program of Evangelism Explosion. Jake Ganschow helped in the training.
After the seminar we all were split up and driven to host homes for dinner and to sleep. Tomorrow we will conclude the seminar and head back to Poland later in the evening.
