"How does a child receive it then?" Becomes the only question that matters... when a little child has needs they are dependent upon others to provide. They have no resources of their own, no skills, no power, no money, no claim except that someone else wants to give them what they need... they trust that the one to whom they look, has the will and power and most importantly, the desire to give. They have no recourse except to cast themselves upon the mercy of another, with no understanding of debt, obligation, justice or purchase, they simply say "I need; you give" and the instant expectation of fulfillment says much about what they believe about you... We approach the throne of grace just like that. With no power, no claim, no understanding of justice, debt or obligation. We come empty handed, trusting that God is good, that He will give the mercy and forgiveness that we MUST have, and we know in our bones that we MUST have it... and we trust this because somehow, we know this, that it is true, and that mercy will be given... we come knowing that "we need, He gives" and in that honest, open, empty need we find the kingdom opened unto us as God displays His own goodness, and makes us His own! Beloved, you had nothing, but now have been given everything!!! Praise Him for His infinite goodness!
