There is only one Christian faith, once delivered unto the saints. If we believe the truth that belief proclaims, then we will not be popular, we will not be conformed to the image of the world; we will walk and talk and live differently, not only among ourselves but when we go into the workplace, the marketplace and the academy.
Like the early Church Father that coined the phrase, we seek to promote the orthodox Christian belief by standing for truth and countering error, no matter where we may find it.
This means that we will be vilified, despised, rejected and reviled. But then, so were Jesus, the disciples and the early fathers. Now, the church wants to be admired, adored and have adulation sent its way.
No, we are called to stand for the truth of the Gospel in all its fullness, accepting the rejection of those who find it unappealing while being winsome in our presentation of the truths we are called to proclaim.
