We have looked at the first few Lord's days that were devoted to God "The Father" and now that we come to the second division of the Lord's Days we find many devoted to God "The Son" as it is in the Son's face that we KNOW God. We are going to deal with the Son of God in His names first, then His work, and then the church's responsablities. We deal with the name "Son of God."

We are NOT asking if Jesus IS the Son of God. There is NO question on this and we do believe it by faith! We also do not look for the "historical persepective" of Jesus. In fact, we know very little in this regard. But we look to know Him as it is told us in scripture. This particular Son was told to be called Jesus and God calls His Son who He really is as He speaks to the very essence of things. It means "Jehovah's salvation" or "Jehovah saves."

This is very significant as the arm of the Lord always affects and here it affects salvation! He IS the salvation of God unto His people and also those who believe in some other do NOT believe and have no salvation. When God calls His Son Jesus He calls His whole church! He specifically talks to the saints who His Son (who He calls salvation) and to who He will save. God puts His Son on the cross in naming His Son Jesus. He calls His children to Himself and saves and delivers us and there is no other who can save...justifying us, glorifying us...salvation complete! You have to believe in Jesus and confess Him without trust in no other! He ONLY is connected to sin and redemption and salvation even though many want to talk and use the name of Jesus separate from the topic of sin and redemption and they distract from the very name of Jesus in doing so.
