No Comparison! June 25-29 Treasure Verse Devotion
Think for a moment on all the descriptions of joy listed in the one verse of Isaiah 51:1 Singing. Everlasting joy. Gladness. Joy. Sorrow and sighing shall flee. There is no comparison between what sin offers and what God offers. Yes – sin has its pleasures and thrills and satisfactions, but they are very limited, very temporary, and very unfulfilling. No sooner than sin pleases, it destroys.
Deuteronomy 30: 19 says, “I have set before you life and death.” Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they might have life and have it abundantly.”
Don’t settle for death when God gives us life in Christ. Don’t settle for sorrow when God gives us gladness in Christ. Don’t take the path of everlasting destruction when God gives us everlasting joy in Christ. Flee sin and embrace Christ! There is no comparison!!
