Since palm Sunday things had deteriorated. All the promises had not brought Israel's glory once again. Even His disciples were renewed asking "wilt Thou restore Thy Kingdom?" But soon they understand that is not the case even as events transpire until the shouts that were for "the King" turned into "we have no King but Caesar."

Bruised according to Gods' good pleasure. Isaiah cannot seem to wait to explain a broader picture of God's bruising as a broader picture of God's good pleasure. Many names come into the chronology of events, but Isaiah says "..it pleased the Lord..." Though many names are in the narrative it pleased the Lord to bruise His Son! Though we see all of these events (as we do in life sometimes wrongly without the eyes of faith) we must see Jehovah God and see the ENTIRE picture. It PLEASES the Lord and PLEASURES Him! "Peter, Christ being delivered by GOD'S determinant council of God delivered Him and by wicket hands you slayed Him.

Even some of the world sees on this day a poor man. NOT SO! Isaiah shows us the unfolding of God's will and good pleasure! He makes His soul an offering for sin. Our Lord Jesus Christ sits at God's right hand and reins down His blessings upon His church, sanctifies them and we are justified in the Lord Jesus Christ as it was God's GOOD PLEASURE. His will that He accomplishes in the cross!

The redemption of the church. We with Isaiah can also mark these things. He was bruised for us in God's good pleasure and we can listen as well and hear our justification in that crossword "it is FINISHED!" He fulfills the law on the cross. God pushed His Son away that we would never be cast out. Totally and completely unfathomable! And thank God for an eternity to praise Him! It's not about the historical circumstances at the cross, but the eye of faith and the depth of love that cannot be shown no matter how perfect the reenactment! A willing and contrite heart...our Lord Jesus Christ. "He shall see His seed and they shall prosper!" He references us all the way back to Abraham and this is the realization of the covenant of His grace. He sees that in the sacrifice because He knows who He redeems. He receives the gift of the Spirit, the Comforter and so do we as adopted children!

The cross is the center of redemptive history and we know in our hears that we have eternal glory. Justified in Christ unto life forevermore!
