"8 Commandment" LD 42/James 4 & I Timothy 6

We are not dealing with moral conduct here, but fulfillment of the entire law as we love the neighbor as ourselves. We deal with what the neighbor possesses in this commandment and we ought to honor the neighbor for Christ's sake. A very important commandment as we live in a world that to some degree even encourages this. We ought to however love our neighbor in ALL things and even go as far as to promote him in this regard!

God is the possessor of EVERYTHING and we are only stewards of that which is given. This is the very basis. We live in an affluent society, but we need to stand still and realize that EVERYTHING (all gold, silver, and possessions) belong to God! God is the sole possessor of all things and we are caretakers whom God will hold responsible! The Lord makes rich, and the Lord makes poor. This has been forgotten in the age and day that we live. The Lord willing, it is God's good pleasure to give talents, inheritance, health, and sickness even. And He does all these things and it is in that light that we stand in contract with the neighbor and his possessions.

Don't lay hands on what the Lord has not given to you. And we deal with them as we would want to be dealt with and even promote with all and as much as in us lies. The keeping of this first starts by recognizing that the Lord dispenses and it is the Lord who gives and takes, who dispenses and gives or withholds as He knows what is needful for us. And ONLY then will you and can you be satisfied with what we have and are given in a world that prompts us to steal. The temptation comes as we deal with our neighbors in our everyday dealings. We know things like grand larceny will be prosecuted. FAITHFULLY labor before the face of God everyday! And the child of God will not feed his covetous nature in those things of greed, avarice, unjust workings, etc.

When we do this we lift ourselves above the greed of this world and receive a blessing because we are lifted above these earthly things and see the Kingdom and use the things given for that Kingdom. Laying up your treasures there. You can't take a huge bank account in the hurst with you to the cemetery, but the treasures of the Kingdom will have great and ETERNAL return! These things below will buy no eternal happiness and are given to us that we may support the things that do!!!

We do not cheat the Lord and we deal with those things we are given rightfully. Labor FAITHFULLY! God's people will never, ever go hungry!!!
