Our “Friend Day” is May 7th. Dr. Randy Starr will be preaching during the 10:30 service. We are looking forward to spending the day with Dr. and Shirley Starr. It will be an exciting day with many visitors, a fellowship with refreshments following the morning service, and a resource for each visitor. “To See Thy Power and Thy Glory” from Psalms 63:2 is the theme for our annual Spring Revival. Pastor Aaron Samples will be preaching nightly @ 7p.m. He is the Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Urbana, Ohio. Thursday is community night. We will be having a fried chicken dinner at 5:30 p.m. with a service following the meal. Each visitor will receive a free resource during the week of meetings. There will be a nursery provided for each service.
Pastor Chris Starr is currently preaching a series on Sunday mornings entitled, “What is a Bible believing Church”; Sunday evening he is preaching a series on “Communion with God”. It has been very helpful along with some handouts to be used during daily devotions to help us stay focused during our prayer time. Wednesday evenings, he is teaching “What is a clear Christian Testimony”. These messages can be heard here on Sermon Audio.
Our teens took their junior/senior trip recently. They had a great time in the Pocono Mountains and New York City. It was a great time for them and the adults that went along. One of the highlights of their trip was a time of four wheeling on trails.
Our annual Volleyball tournament was in February. We invited several churches to come for the day and enjoy a variety of activities including volleyball. It was a great time of delicious food, fun, and fellowship.
Boys basketball is a highlight for many during the months of February and March. It is a good time of fellowship for those who come to watch during the slower months. There is a great competitive spirit, laughter, and fun while the boys learn drills, practice, and play the game.
Ladies’ Sunday School classes have begun and will continue during the month of March. The first class was on “The Bumps are what you climb on”. We will all face the bumps but it is up to you what they become. “And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” Duet. 31:8
Currently our church is planting a new church, Greater York Baptist Church. They will have their first service on April 2nd from 5-7 at the Courtyard York, 2799 Concord Road, York, PA. If you are looking for a Bible believing and preaching church come and check them out. You will feel welcome, be encouraged through God’s Word preached, and fellowship with those who have a heart for the Lord and others.
Mt. Zion is also assisting in a church plant in Wilmington, Delaware; First State Baptist Church. We will be attending and helping in a service their first week of meetings, March 26-30. We are praying for them and looking forward to hearing all the Lord is doing there.
