While Jesus was on earth walking among men, he received an invitation from Simon, the Pharisee, to eat dinner with him. He accepted the invitation, knowing it would be a great opportunity to share the gospel message to a lost and dying world.

When our Master was there and it was time to eat, a very unexpected guest showed up, not just to eat, but to worship Jesus. Luke 7:37-38, “And behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, and stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

She gave him the most expensive gift she had. That little lady was an example in humility and true adoration and praises, for the Pharisee and all of us. Her repentance and faith in Jesus Christ assured her of a glorious home in Heaven throughout the ages of eternity. She did what every human being on earth should do. She accepted him as Saviour and let him lift her out of at life of bondage on earth.

Jesus had to explain to Simon the Pharisee what the grace of God means and how he came to seek and to save those who are lost.

At the feet of Jesus that little woman had the highest place in this entire world. She humbled herself, being sorry for her sins, and Jesus forgave her as he would do for you, if you would repent.

Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
