American people are so caught up in their business, house work, pleasure and recreation; they hardly have any time to be Christ-like. If we are born again Christians our greatest desire should be to be like Christ.

Recently, I read about a little boy who was out on the street with a little table with all sorts of fruit on it. He was diligently trying to sell his apples and oranges, as a young solder came rushing to catch a street car. The service man accidentally bumped into his table and all his fruit spilled all over the ground. The soldier stopped, missed his car, and began picking up the lemons, apples and oranges, wiping them clean with his big handkerchief. The little boy was so surprised to see someone who really cared. He asked the soldier, “Are you God?” “No,” said the soldier, “but I’m trying to be like Him.”

Are you trying to be like Jesus? Are you in too much of a rush to care? Do you let other things take up all your time? Perhaps you are saying right now, “I wish I could be more like Christ, more thoughtful of others.”

Of course, if you have not been born again no one would expect you to be Godly. But if that is where you stand, why do you wait any longer? Repent of your sins and take refuge in Him today and he will keep you sweet, kind, and thoughtful of others.
