Critical Race Theory is among the most prevailing issues in the church today. So, major Evangelical figures are finally addressing it. And John Piper is the latest to weigh in. But John Piper is deceptive and at best ill-equipped to handle this issue. On Desiring God, he unveils a two-part series on Critical Race Theory.
John Piper begins part one with an explanation for why he is delaying his defining of Critical Race Theory.
Iām not going to start with definitions. And I hope youāll see why before weāre done. Critical race theory is not only a bundle of beliefs and ideas and ways of thinking (about race and about other important things); it has also become a relationally destructive means of defamation. And that is what I want to talk about first...
John Piper has zero discernment and probably needs to retire from his religious ramblings. Anyone who backs and promotes that heretic Mark Driscoll, has zippo discernment, and needs to repent and fade into the background.

Brother QC, excellent link! I read the below one and did a couple of cut and pastes from the article. The SBC is indeed compromised.
The Woke Tools of the SBC: A Review of Resolution 9 on Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality
According to the definition of intersectionality, where these three marks āintersectā is the focus of her greatest and most severe discrimination which places her at the greatest risk of oppression in our culture.
Although this term was birthed out of a radical feminist postmodern political culture, itās now being used within evangelical circles to describe people who are oppressed and āheld backā from certain advancement within evangelicalism.
First of all, I listened to the podcast and can say that he did not defend critical race theory! He condemned it for being biblically and philosophically erroneous. Yes, he did do it in a kind and respectful way, as all Christians should do. Please donāt accuse a brother based on something on the internet. Look into facts first my precious brothers and sisters.
James Thomas wrote, āThe power is in The Blood, not the pigment. Amen brother! We could do with fewer people who are āwoke,ā and more who have been awakened by the Spirit of God.

An egalitarian society, Jim, would be an unscriptural society. The Bible mentions rulers and servants, rich and poor, kings and beggars. An egalitarian society would be an inequitable society, because the evil and indolent would be rewarded just as richly as the virtuous and diligent. We donāt need an egalitarian society. We need a Christ-honoring society.
Jim/Lincoln we see you're calling on your RC friends at Loyola to find support for racist theories. You should write an anti-Catholic post now, just to provide balance. And mention "white" for added color.
Too bad the outfit that put out this article, didn't read the fact that John Piper is against critical race theory, https://tinyurl.com/yyzm47r9 (John Piper warns Christians against Critical Race Theory that makes god of self) which is by the way defined as:
Cady Lang wrote: āCritical race theory ultimately is calling for a society that is egalitarian, a society that is just, and a society that is inclusive, and in order to get there, we have to name the barriers to achieving a society that is inclusive,...Our government at the moment is essentially afraid of addressing our history of inequality and if we canāt address it, then we canāt change it.ā---[Priscilla Ocen, professor at the Loyola Law School]
excerpt from, "President Trump Has Attacked Critical Race Theory. Here's What to Know About the Intellectual Movement"
Critical = To judge harshly. Race = A competition to get to the end fastest. Theory = Group of tested propositions which may be used for prediction of phenomena.
Thus CRT is the assumed harsh idea of some who seek the top place, based on theoretical propositions.
Sounds like human arrogance and ambition. Must be for politicians.
I am an outsider to all of this CRT issue, and I don't consider myself a big fan of Piper's. But this article is a far cry from the 2 Piper podcasts I heard. I couldn't help commenting on how biased and inaccurate it is. Featuring such carelessly written articles affects the credibility of sermonaudio.com.
(TMC) Having actually read Piperās articles when they first came out, this headline is straight up slander. I think Piperās critique is not as robust as I would prefer and he seems to miss what CRT advocates mean by certain terms and words, but he certainly is not ādefendingā CRT by any means!
In the first article he does caution against jumping to the conclusion that because someone is pointing out injustice that they therefore are advocating for CRT. This caution is necessary as I have seen multiple people engage in such behavior. Not bearing false witness is part of basic Christianity.
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds. 2 Cor. 11
The great tragedy isn't a corrupt election, a corrupt Government, immorality, so on and so forth. Although ALL those things are bad, they are a result of man's fallen sin nature, his depravity. Here's the greatest tragedy EVER..."I'll tell you where Satan operates the hardest...through false churches and false preachers" - Bill Parker DECEPTION is the 'great tragedy' of this day, and of all time.
From the article: āJohn Piper is deceptive and at best ill-equipped to handle this issueā. They have spoken truth. The statement reflects most of his āministryā.
Well since I have biblically separated myself from John Piper because of his comments regarding Rick Warren, I didnāt read the article. But from the title it sounds like he is giving justification for all the riots and division that is taking place.
Simply said, all genders and all races are equal in Godās eyes. And neither of these groups will tell God at the judgment; but I was born a female or I was born black. IOW, no one will claim they were victims in this life.
Well thereās a consistent pattern, Keller, Moore, JD Greear( I was for BLM before I was against their means ) and now Piper. But, when Mohler starts with his thoughts on letting CRT have a seat of discussion, thatās like the Judizers have come before us and there is no one to rebuke their teachings. Critical race theory is playground rules for those soon to be incarcerated. The strongest man wins by use of force and coercion. Imagine CRT rules in the local Baptist church, your reparation fund will be compulsory extracted from the view members left. When desiring god and TGC came on the scene everyone was enamored . Books were sold, the esv translation was promoted , bad behavior and biblical theology was easily consumed. My own church is so behind the times weāre still grappling with the metoo# edict. ā Must we have 5 mini ministers who are female or do we just fire āBobā . ā Can our budget afford 5 mini ministers , when we were just paying ā Bobāsā rent. Oh , what a conundrum we are falling into. Now weāll be giving money to the unseen Acorn mini pope residing in Louisville, Kentucky SBT , sitting at the table with dear leader Al Mohler.
