Opinion Trump has changed the way evangelical Christians think?
It is only now that the results are clear - if still rhetorically contested - that the language of Trump's allies can return to the eschatological. Richard Land, president of the Southern Evangelical Seminary, responded to an interviewed asking him why God would allow Trump to lose by saying, "it could be that Joe Biden and Kamala D. Harris are a judgment of God on the United States." Robert Jeffress, Trump's stalwart ally, finally published an opinion piece entitled "Biden is president-elect - how should Christians respond?" In it, he writes, "Now, it's always easier to submit and to pray for someone when he was our preferred candidate. But the rubber really meets the road when the person who takes office is not the one we supported. Paul didn't give us any wiggle room - his command applies all the same, whether the emperor was the faith-friendly Constantine or the evil emperor Nero." With that last...
Well, Nick just for two points, and I should find links for them because I know they're out there and because I agree with them so why think of something new?
But I think if you look up Russell Moore and his link for the 2016 election he will point out that evangelicals are hypocritical when they used to attack presidential candidates for morals failings, while Trump moral failings are completely good
Of course, such behavior is driving out young people especially from the Evangelical churches anyway
George Will has always been a conservative, not one of convenience like Mr. Trump. if you have any doubts go read a whole bunch of his commentaries which are easily found here:
George Will a conservative? In a pig’s eye! Let me introduce you to a REAL conservative. His name was Saul, and he was a First Century Jew. Typical of his conservative writings is this portion of a letter to a young protege of his: ”And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” Saul believed that there were some things worth preserving, some things that should be passed from one generation to the next. I believe that, too—things like the Constitution, freedom of religion and speech, the right to bear arms and to PEACEABLY assemble, the right to life (including the life of not-yet-born infants), liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In other words, all the things liberals like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Jim Lincoln want to destroy.

I thought that Trump's election was a judgment on the United States ❗👎
I think the first poster, "unknown" got it correct
Neil, you don't like the conservative George F. Will who is on Washington Post ?
For example,
"America is battered, but a somewhat happy ending is in sight"
Neil wrote: "... the politician to whom you've harnessed your theology to loses." - a grossly exaggerated Red Herring. Supporting this or that public figure does not mean one endorses their whole philosophy as well, faulty reasoning shared with Christians for whom no candidate is worthy of their vote. This conforms to my expectations of lib-arts college professors published on Wa-Po.
Well said Neil! I believe that it is impossible to be a practicing Christian and be elected to public office. So, none of them affect or change my Christian thoughts at all. I voted for Trump because he pandered to me on the abortion issue. And statistics show there were far less murders of little babies in the womb during his term.
The below are the basics of Christian morality and no politician will get elected if they say them:

I wonder how many Christians Nero praised for their doing of good? After all, he was not a terror to their good works, but to the evil.
Submission to Authorities 1 Peter 2:13 to the end of the chapter
Peter is writing to the Believers that are under “horrible wicked evil leadership” but encourages them to be submissive to the authority God has placed over them...but ultimately we are to be submissive Gods holy and error free Word
