Mayor of Ashland, Ohio Dedicates City to Jesus Christ: ‘May This Be a Land Where He Rules Supreme’
Hundreds of Christians recently gathered in a field in Ashland, Ohio as ministry leaders and elected officials called the people to prayer and repentance. During the event, Ashland Mayor Matt Miller dedicated the city to Jesus Christ, and County Commissioner Emmitt Justice asked God to forgive the nation for its rebellion against Him.

“As I stand before you tonight, in the bright light of His Son, to the extent I am able, I give this city of Ashland to the Lord Jesus Christ,” Miller proclaimed. “May this be a land where He rules supreme. May this be a land where His love is genuinely felt by believers and non-believers alike.” ...

Dominion theory, Jim? Is that in the same book as your Critical Race Theory? All utter nonsense. You are in danger of mimicking those people of Isaiah 59 and those who stood against the prophets for calling Israel and Judah back to the Lord. Anyone who stands up for the Lord is a Pharisee or a Doninionist? How ridiculously absurd.

Did you also notice,Adriel, what Christ had to say about the Pharisees? This Modern group of Pharisees are not going to have any better luck and are just as irritating. : annoyed:

"We believe that the Bible teaches a premillennial view of the Kingdom of God (Zechariah 14:4–9; Matthew 25:31–34) and that Israel and the Church are distinct throughout biblical history and prophecy. We don’t see that God ever commanded the Church to take charge of and revamp society. Instead, we see the command for believers to preach the gospel as in Matthew 28:19–20. God intends to implement worldwide social reform Himself (Revelation 19:11 — 20:4)."

"What is dominion theology?"

Jim;
I notice that you refer to the 'Sermon on the Mount' - Did you notice how quote "showy" unquote, Christ Jesus was on that day! - Why HE did it all in public!

Perhaps you need to correct HIM also on the best way to be a Christian in public.

Amen and amen, pilgrim.

Another year is dawning:
Dear Father, let it be,
In working or in waiting,
Another year with Thee;
Another year of progress,
Another year of praise,
Another year of proving
Thy presence all the days;

Another year of mercies,
Of faithfulness and grace;
Another year of gladness
In the shining of Thy face;
Another year of leaning
Upon Thy loving breast;
Another year of trusting,
Of quiet, happy rest;

Another year of service,
Of witness for Thy love;
Another year of training
For holier work above.
Another year is dawning:
Dear Father, let it be,
On earth or else in heaven,
Another year for Thee.

It is true that we should preach the Gospel AND try to help with material and personal needs of the lost sinner.

But notice that Mr. Lincoln voices NO concern with the Gospel.

Feeding people and not preaching the Gospel is as anti-Biblical as anything Jim is concerned with.

Matthew 7:5 (KJV) Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

It is sad that Mr Lincoln has to put a bit of a dampener on things!! Good verses, but out of context. That is what is needed, a Mayor and a County Conmissioner dedicating their area to the Lord Jesus Christ, and calling for repentance from sin. However, knowing the peculiarities of your US constitution, particularly after some activist Supreme Court justices had their way in the 1960’s, after the campaign by the late non-lamented atheist lady, Madelyn Murray O’Hare, I am sure that sooner or later infamous atheistic organisations like the ACLU and the FFRF will do their usual secularist atheist protest, about “separation of church and state” that isn’t even in the constitution. I just wish we had some politicians like that here in Britain, but unfortunately, as far as I know, we don’t!!
Jim likes to quote verses out of thread context. He likes to say things apparently anti-Catholic, but then voices support for Catholic Joe Biden, who wants to kill more babies. Jim, who believes he's Christian, says Christians shouldn't be involved in politics, then spends his days being involved in politics. Jim thinks he's independent, but wants more dependency on government. Jim is playing games. Mostly with himself.

Jim, I suggest you read I Kings 8:22-66 and II Chronicles 6:1-7:3. There is absolutely no biblical proscription against public praying. What is forbidden is praying publicly solely for the purpose of “showing off.”
By “intercity charities,” I suppose you meant inner city. You yourself, of course, spend many hours each week volunteering for such groups, right? That’s why you have so little time to look up garbage in the Internet and post it on Sermon Audio.
By the way, do you have something against rural charities?

Matthew 6:5-8

5. “When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward. 6. But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7. In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. 8. Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.

Perhaps a bunch of them can volunteer With some intercity charities? --anonymously of course.

Matthew 6:2-4

2. Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. 3. But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, 4. so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
