Republicans place free exercise of faith at front of convention agenda
Speakers throughout the Republican National Convention are aggressively courting President Trump’s religious base by touting him as a defender of the free exercise of faith.

In the convention’s second night, Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo all wrapped their appeals in the language of faith, an approach followed by many of the lower-profile speakers as well.

The trend is expected to extend into the third and fourth nights as well. Wednesday will feature an address from Sister Dede Byrne, a nun and military veteran whom Trump has praised in the past for being one of the “Americans of faith [who] have uplifted our nation.” Trump’s own address from the Rose Garden on Thursday is expected to touch on themes of religious freedom. ...

Wrong question. Of course it isn't what he LOOKS like. But if he had asked "Am I hypocritical on law and order, since I have said nothing until now, when poll data reflects badly on the Democrats?" The answer is a resounding Yes!!

Since I didn't watch the NRC, I assume that they were actually strong on law and order--But they might as well been completely hypocritical about it and say that they supported Christianity also. The rogues gallery mentioned in the article are not noted for religious piety

Earlier on Monday, Mr Biden forcefully condemned the violence at recent protests while accusing President Trump of making the country unsafe.

It was the Democratic nominee's most determined effort yet to counter Republican criticism that he was weak on law and order.

"Do I look like a radical socialist with a soft spot for rioters?" said Mr Biden, speaking in Pittsburgh, in the critical US election state of Pennsylvania. "Really?"

The former US vice-president accused Mr Trump of having fomented violence in the US for years....

From Adam McManus today. He detailed a recent phone call between President Trump and Pastor John MacArthur:

In his phone call with President Donald Trump, Pastor John MacArthur also emphasized how any Christian worth his salt would never vote for the pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-transgender Democrats.

MACARTHUR: “We talked a little bit about why, from certainly a Biblical standpoint, Christians could not vote Democratic because there's no way that a Christian can affirm the slaughter of babies, homosexual activity, homosexual marriage, or any kind of gross immorality. No way we could stand behind a candidate who was affirming transgender behavior, which of course, is really the reprobate mind of Romans one.

“I said, ‘These things aren't even political for us, sir.’ I said, ‘These things are Biblical. These things are laid down by the Word of God. We love God, we desire to honor Him, and upholding righteousness in a society is what a church is supposed to do.’

“So, I said, ‘Any real, true believer is going to be on your side in this election.’”

(TMC) @Jim Lincoln

The Apostle Paul thought he had rights-

Acts 22:25-29
25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned? 26 When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman. 27 Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea. 28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born. 29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.

Acts 25:11
11 For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.

I see no reason why we may not appeal to our Constitution. 🤔

" more than 350 faith leaders endorsed Joe Biden for president late Thursday, citing a "need of moral leadership" (thehill.com)

Placing "moral leadership" with Biden - or any Democrat - Has to win this years coconut for the biggest oxymoron that has been stated in the media or anywhere else.

Democrat policy = Politically Correct Liberalism and its support for sodom and gomorrah and baby murders is far fetched fictional fallacy (FFFF) and typical of Satan's followers.
But that's what we get from today's Democrat party.

Now WHO? WHO? on earth would vote for that?

ps: Obviously "thehill" has no idea of what 'faith' really is.

I doubt if there would be any that I would agree with them on their theology, but then they do have the right to have it---at least so far in this country. I'm not sure if it's a Jerry Falwell Jr type of Christian thinks that they have any rights?

I do agree that it's time for moral leadership, something that we won't get from the present administration❗👎

Unfortunately, along with White evangelists I have suspicions that they have a Dominionist point of view.

I believe the Moderator did remove Jim's latest racist statement. More to his dismay, John MacArthur is quoted in today's "Worldview in 5 Minutes" stating the exact same reasons we have all made why a Christian cannot support the Democrats.

Excellent points, Carl. I don’t know why the moderator didn’t remove Jim’s latest racist comments.
Being a Georgia boy, I have always admired Herschel Walker, considered by many to be the greatest Georgia Bulldog of all time. But after his remarks at the RNC, I now love him as a brother in Christ as well. And although I admit that in my old age my eyes aren’t what they used to be, Herschel didn’t look like a “white evangelical” to me.
Jim’s faith appears to be in the father of lies.

It's amazing! I only saw only ONE "White Evangelical" speak (Franklin Graham) and he opened last night's event with a solemn and powerful prayer. I saw Blacks speaking and giving their stories and life achievements at this year's RNC more than any other past convention (Republican or Democratic) in my lifetime. And, yes, they were absolutely not afraid nor ashamed to speak of their faith in God. These are Blacks that the Dems, BLM, and the media try to keep hidden; and Biden takes for granted. Alice Marie Johnson (the woman granted clemency by President Trump) was so inspiring that I'm sure a large part of those watching shed happy tears with her. The audience also shared tears of grief when Ann Dorn, wife of former St Louis Police Chief David Dorn, talked about that horrific night looters shot and killed him; the killers shared the horrific event on social media.

Excellent to see. This will please the sheep on the right —- But will upset the goats on the left.
