Confederate monuments' removal praised by Southern Baptists
As a child growing up in Virginia, Marshal Ausberry never understood it. Why were monuments to Confederate soldiers prominently displayed in public spaces across his state?
"To see the Confederate flag and these larger than life statues to over-romanticized Confederate heroes of the Confederate South strewn throughout Virginia constantly reminded me that there were people who were willing to fight, bleed, sacrifice and die to keep black people chained into a system of brutality and bondage," said Ausberry, who pastors Antioch Baptist Church in Fairfax Station, Va., and is first vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Nearly two weeks after a black man, George Floyd, died in police custody -- after a white police officer used a knee to pin his neck to the ground for several minutes -- many of those monuments are coming down. On Thursday (June 4), Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam announced a...

Jim Lincoln wrote: --- There shouldn't be statues to either these two traitors in the country!
You probably say goofy things like the above just to get a response, but on the slight chance you believe what you said, you simply don't know what you're talking about. Check out the constitutional definition of treason, then come back and sling another cow flop.
What about the traitor Cassius Clay, whose gang handle was Muhammad Ali, Jim? Shouldn’t his statue be torn down also? Or did you forget that he was a traitor who refused to wear the uniform of his country?
Jim Lincoln the Humanist. A people are known by whom their enemies are. You will fare not well at judgement you will Hear Jesus say Get away from me, I never knew you. I have no pity for you. I pray that you get justice soon.

Anarchists and the dreaded (Liberalist) Democrats are being heard more today.
'Murals, street art, street names, statues and other memorials will come under scrutiny'- Mayor of London this week.

John for Jesus, the wars main point was not slavery! The north had the only ports for trading goods such as cotton. Not only that they had the only “rights”. The south was being taxed unjust amounts, goods being bought at low prices, and then the north would turn around and sell it for double to the East! Yes slavery was wrong. Yes the south was going to keep their slaves, also wrong. But ol Abe being an opportunist took advantage of this and told slaves they could be freed if the north won. (More troops for the north). The day and age these people lived in very few gave any thought to slavery being wrong. Even though in most all cases it was.
'And the country was filled with water' By Duncan Campbell
Such a blessing https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=1316&commentView=itemComments
QUOTE, 'Duncan Campbell preached this strong word on the baptism in the Holy Spirit at a camp meeting in America in the 1960's. "You can't work up revival, but you can do the digging"--a breaking through the dry crust of our hearts and removing the 'stones', anything that would hinder a consecrated life to God. The sermon is alive with vivid revival accounts, as with its sister sermon, "Lacking One Thing".'
Here is the latest from those that hate Confederates, Gen. David Petraeus. The Traitor who Gave his wh--- classified material, wonder what he told his wife Says the army must change the names of bases named after Confederates because they are traitors. The Secretary of the Army will consider it. Well what about Washington D.C. and Washington state named after George Washington he was slave owner. We can't forget that great hero US Grant he owned slaves he fought a war to free the slaves. Wait he said he would change sides before doing that. Abe Lincoln his dear wife owned slaves. Folks there's going to be a lot of changes made. This is going to be brave new world
John The South may Not rise again but the North is falling. They did not all secede for the same reason. Each State Presented an Ordinance, They were not the same. There is no debate about secession. It was legal in 1860 and it is legal now. The Constitution is Silent on the subject just as it is silent about marriage. Lincoln who was the real rebel was happy for worked to help form West Virginia Which was illegal under the Constitution. So much for your debate. What ever reason the States gave was their right to do so. The real question is why did the north invade the South. It is always stated Fort Sumpter. Lincoln set it up to start a war. He had to have a war to maintain the Northern tariff which then about 30% and going up. What country would pay a 30% tariff when it would pay 10% at the South, it was about money just like always Slavery was still legal in the North. Why did the North not amend its Constitution and end slavery in the north. Money that's why. The Declaration of Independence a document of secession was the moral authority the South used. You can run your mouth all you want it won't change a thing. I quoted Scripture because of your self-righteous attitude . I am sure that you know God instituted slavery in the 9th chapter of Genesis.
Ken from the Old South isn't going to rise again...
Far from my imagination getting the best of me, the Ordinance of Secession is a very real document and explains why the rebels, in their own words, seceded from the United States. Whether they even had a right to is up for debate. However, they clearly did it to save the institution of slavery. Not having qouted Scripture, I am confused by your rant on interpretation.
Slave owners are condemned, hate to burst your bubble. Not to mention God's teachings on loving your neighbor. There was nothing Godly about slavery in America or the Rebels who tried to preserve it!
