Trump Orders Immediate Reopening of Places of Worship
President Donald Trump ordered Friday the immediate reopening of churches that have been closed for weeks amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"If they don't do it, I will override the governors," Trump said in brief remarks at the White House on Friday after days of signaling that he planned to call for the reopening. "In America we need more prayer, not less."
Trump didn't take answers from reporters and it's unclear what authority he would exert to overstep governors.

Maybe he thinks the various governors are God's people.

Who is he to order God's people to do anything? Is he now the vicar of the church?I know that some pastors/Christians will lavish him with empty accolades. But this is close to blasphemy. And to think that he does not attend any church, not to the public's knowledge, is hypocritical IF he's a worshiper at all. When we open our eyes, we'll discover that we are losing our freedom to one paving the road to fascism, authoritarianism, and dictatorship. But he is doing a marvelous job by putting an end to funding abortions. I have a friend who has 27 siblings. He is in his seventies and got converted about seven years ago. No joke. He raised hell before his conversion; infected probably hundreds with loose living. He recently said, "I love my brothers and sisters too much to unknowingly infect them with a virus I might possibly have." So will Trump's next move be to seek out Christians who will not go to church? Or, does this "order" apply only to pastors? Listen, fools make a mockery of sin. So why do we think Trump is really for God's will to be done? Is it to cause division between church and state, or the governors and the president? Will they fear him because of public shame the president often subjects his opponents to?

So discrimination on the basis of the purpose of a meeting is ok? Pathetic. Again, Chief Justice John Roberts, who gave us "gay marriage" switches to the lawless liberal end of the court. Now the church understands the futility of suing a government in a government court.

Boy Trump sure took his sweet time with this one. He probably got tired of the Charismatic magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, and soothsayers shrieking in his ear about their merchandise ministries that are losing cash by not being open.

David Brooks: ....It's a pretty naked attempt to try to appeal to evangelical voters. Churches happen to be one of the places where we have seen a lot of super spreading. One of the Korean churches was in — early in — was one of the worst things that happened. And so that's — it's just foolish. The second foolishness is that a national policy here is just not a good policy. This is very context-specific. This virus is very decentralized. It hits one place, it doesn't hit another. So, every decision that should be made, in my view, should be at the local possibilist level. And so Trump is just — it's just politics.....

States rights? QC, that's an interesting argument. Only Evangelicals use thatâ—

T.H.b.C.C. So do you believe America is Babylon. I believe this too, to a point. BUT Rome trumps THIS. I dont think we can be right in everything but God. Early 300 onwards church had some thing that seem strange, but still believers? Keep up the good work.
Work....love your work it did say, but it cut it off (work)due to me only have 1300 words, it seems i have 2 cut out 100 or so letter of yours to fit my words in.

Oh, they'll scream bloody murder, Mike. Their state's rights are under attack! Oh, the horror! Cuomo should put on quite the show.
Delaware, I heard, has quite the solution. They allowed churches to open maybe last weekend with a small proportion of the capacity and less than an hour of service permitted. So you might be able to show up, but not too many, and don't even stay an hour -- I haven't been in a morning service that short at a descent church in many years. No idea how its going there but one has to wonder.
Quite right QC. It seems clear the only authority the president has is to refer to the First Amendment. I hope he does. If a governor can say how and when worship services may be conducted in the meeting house, or in the parking lot, then it's plain it has become a State approved church. The libs always say they are for separation of church and State, though they know little of what that is. Let's see how they squirm out of this one.
