Queen Elizabeth in rare, moving address: 'We will overcome'
Queen Elizabeth II, who lived through the London Blitz of World War II, delivered a rare televised address to the nation Sunday, speaking "from my heart as your queen and a grandmother" amid "an increasingly challenging time."

"We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will return," she said in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We will be with our friends again; we will be with our families again; we will meet again."

The queen said she hoped that in the years to come "those who come after us will say the Britons of this generation were as strong as any." ...

Of course not, Mike. Queen Elizabeth has had years of practice of delivering speeches and being meaningful at the same time. It is interesting to note that she is a World War II veteran❗👍 (The Queen at War)

Of course when it comes to war, General Jim Mattis probably covered it fairly well for Mr. Trump. ('He earned his spurs from a doctor': Gen James Mattis mocks Trump)

The article wasn't entirely flattering to General Mattis, which somewhat surprised me but I'll refer to it anyway.

Agreed. But If Trump made the speech, you'd be going on and on about how he's not a medical expert.

i’m 43 and live in london hrh speech have never given me an my family zero comfort. They claim to be a christian family yet in these extreme trying times she fails to mention our Lord Jesus Christ who is God. I don’t hate them however i’m extremely tired of the fakery and watching them mock us while making full use of our hard earned income tax

She actually said little. She evoked the British spirit of the blitz with the “We’ll Meet Again” reference, but doesn’t seem to realise that that was another country- a country long sacrificed on the altars of postmodernism and multiculturalism. The rule of our day is actually “Every man for himself” as revealed by the mad queues at the supermarkets. Most unforgivably, she made no mention of Jesus or God, despite being the so-called Supreme Governor of the church of England.

I think the royal family are about finished. They keep shooting themselves in the foot, might as well disband and get rid of all the pomp and ceremony and nonsense.

In Isaiah 41, there is a passage in which the Lord calls all the peoples together and they are busy encouraging one another...encouraging each other right to the idol makers. Whenever some sort of political leader or head of state or general advertisement comes across with the message, "We shall overcome!" I can't help but ask "Says who?" Perhaps the Lord will heal enough of us and prevent enough of us from becoming sick with this coronavirus that we can begin to regain a step or two toward what we thought was normal as a society. He would be justified in not doing so. My prayer has been for His mercy upon us.

WND had more opinions than necessary, as usually the case, they did contain themselves fairly well. The opinion on her jewelry for instance was non-essential to her speech. the BBC gave less opinions about it and just gave the speech,

it was much more straightforward. I didn't bother to check the link to the speech that WND had. The above should work quite well. 👍
