Govt raises free speech concerns over Franklin Graham ‘no-platforming’
The Leader of the House of Commons Jacob Rees-Mogg has said that ‘no-platforming’ Franklin Graham is an example of a “particularly disagreeable modern trend”.

Franklin Graham was due to preach at eight venues across Britain this summer, but all cancelled his gospel events because of opposition to his views on homosexuality.

Rees-Mogg said that the principle of freedom of speech was of ‘fundamental importance’ for UK society.

Jim, you said that greed is one of Franklin Graham’s major problems. What is it that motivates people to want others to pay for their healthcare? Is it not greed? What is the motivation behind young liberals’ cry for “free” college if not greed? What makes healthy young people want to sit on their fat rumps and collect food stamps and welfare benefits? It’s greed, Jimmy, greed. Are you so foolish as to believe that only the rich can be greedy? Yes, you probably are. You’re so foolish in other areas there’s no reason to expect any wisdom from you in this one.

I would fully investigate Franklin Graham's testimony before making such claims, Jim. Just because he isn't "woke" doesn't negate his valid testimony of faith. In fact, it likely enhances his validity.

I think, Jim, we have been talking past one another for a long time. I think you have a different idea of what is and what isn't sin. One cannot take that Critical Theory nonsense and apply it as some sort gauge. Aren't you a little old for these new fangled ideas anyway?

What is it that ferments in the mind of lefties that makes them think that personal insults carry any credibility whatsoever? Any clue, Jim?

Timothy oh, what a great description of Franklin Graham he doesn't seem to realize he is as much loved in England as Donald Trump is! As such he should send somebody else to be an evangelist to England.

He doesn't want to put the cart after the horse. A person has to be a Christian before he's going to accept all the morality that goes along with it. But then that isn't important for a Pharisee anyway. It's a good thing he doesn't have a home church.

1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler not even to eat with such a one.---ESV

It's obvious that greed is one of his major problems.

From the 1828 Webster’s Dictionary:
Idiot—A natural fool or fool from his birth; a human being in form, but destitute of reason, or the ordinary intellectual powers of man.

American Tract Dictionary 1859 wrote:

....In numerous cases Christ denounced the Pharisees for their pride and covetousness, their ostentation in prayers, alms, tithes, and facts, Mt 6:2,5 Lu 18:9, and their hypocrisy in employing the garb of religion to cover the profligacy of their dispositions and conduct; as Mt 23:1-39 Lu 16:14 Joh 7:48,49 8:9. By his faithful reproofs he early incurred their hatred, Mt 12:14; they eagerly sought to destroy him, and his blood was upon them and their children. On the other hand, there appear to have been among them individuals of probity, and even of genuine piety; as in the case of Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, the aged Simeon, etc., Mt 27:57 Lu 2:25 Joh 3:1. Saul of Tarsus was a Pharisee of the strictest sect, Ac 26:5 Ga 1:14. The essential features of their character are still common in Christian lands, and are no less odious to Christ than of old.

excerpt from, "Entry for Pharisees"

An excellent description of our American Pharisee that's wants to come to Britain, Franklin Graham.

I definitely see that,

It's not the same Fiona Bruce of BBC fame.

I don't even have the envy for Frankie's money, Mike. ❗👎

"Is there freedom of speech in the UK?
No, the UK does not have freedom of speech. At least not in the same way that e.g., the US does in its first amendment. The UK did incorporate the European Convention on Human Rights into law in 1998, and this guarantees the Freedom of Expression. But there are a large number of exceptions."

"Under Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998, “everyone has the right to freedom of expression” in the UK. But the law states that this freedom “may be subject to formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society”

I wonder if that MP call Fiona Bruce was the former news presenter on BBC. Some years back he was very decortive. I assume she has held up well over the years?

Pharisees always seem to have a hard time of it, anywhere, and political sycophants, even more so!
Graham should send the real evangelist in his place

""Rees-Mogg said that the principle of freedom of speech was of ‘fundamental importance’ for UK society.""

Of course the Bible believing Christian knows that there is another reason why this whole thing has become public today.

Christ Jesus teaches:
"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake." Matthew 5:10/11.

Christians are being persecuted in Britain today and worldwide also; - So that sinners and reprobates may keep their sins and continue to obey Satan.

'Freedom of Speech' is a human law. However what is really being attacked is the Bible - The Word and the Laws of GOD.

2Tim 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will."

May GOD have mercy upon our souls.

Romans 3:10
As it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one."
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Romans 10:13
For "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved."---NASB.

Some John MacArthur material: (How to Witness, Part 1)

And... (How to Witness, Part 2)

An evangelist isn't a moralist, or in another words a Pharisee.

Is Franklin still desperate to peddle the Word? He's already one of the richest televangelists in the United States.
