Franklin Graham uncorks on sex-packed Super Bowl halftime show
The Rev. Franklin Graham lashed out at the Super Bowl halftime show Sunday night as demeaning to women.

"I don’t expect the world to act like the church, but our country has had a sense of moral decency on prime time television in order to protect children," Graham wrote on his Facebook page. "We see that disappearing before our eyes. It was demonstrated tonight in the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show — with millions of children watching.

"This exhibition was Pepsi showing young girls that sexual exploitation of women is okay. With the exploitation of women on the rise worldwide, instead of lowering the standard, we as a society should be raising it. I’m disappointed in Pepsi and the NFL." ...

Convicted Sinner: “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
Calvinist: “There is nothing you CAN do to be saved.”
Cultist: “You must do this and this and this and this and this, and keep on doing them, in order to be saved.”
Biblicist: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”
Convicted Sinner: “Surely that isn’t all!”
Biblicist: “Surely that IS all!”
Convicted Sinner: “But what if I’m not one of the elect.”
Biblicist; “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. If you believe on Jesus He will save you, and if He saves you, you’re elect. God made it simple. Man makes it complicated.”
Convicted Sinner: “If I trust Jesus to save me, do you guarantee me that He will?”
Biblicist: “No.”
Convicted Sinner: “But why not?”
Biblicist: “Because it’s not my place to make that guarantee. It’s God’s place to make it—and He has, repeatedly, in His Word.”

FYI Tim, James Tippins was referring to those who profess to be saved. Almost all here hold to some form of self righteous religion, whether it be free will, which includes decisionism, or law keeping, or progressive sanctification, or any other work one deems'necessary' to get saved/stay saved. The elect 'rest' in Him- rest, meaning 'to stop', to quit trying to add what you do to what He's already done.
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.- Romans 1. The true Gospel speaks of the righteousness of God, for that is the ONLY acceptable righteousness to the Father, who demands perfect obedience from birth to death-no man can meet that demand. 'so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.'- Romans 5:19b

Done here. I have NO desire to get entangled in the endless rabbit trails and twisting of truth that goes on here all too frequently. May God give light and understanding, and He will, but only to His elect.

Amen, Dr. Tim and what you say and quote in simple words makes lot more sense than what some say that just doesn’t make any sense at all. Am I making sense ??!!🤓

I don’t know who Mr. Tippens is or was, Ladybug, but it doesn’t sound like he has the same compassion and and burden for souls that Paul had when he said, ”Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.”

Ecumenism is the end result of 'getting along' regardless of the fact that the pristine Gospel of grace is compromised by the Grahams. To say they preached truth is to show you don't possess the truth. The true Gospel reveals the righteousness of God-Romans 1:17. Any 'decision-based' presentation is self righteousness at work, any 'gospel' that lists things to do is accursed- {Galatians 1}. Any universal atonement/love is a lie from the father of lies. Deception is rampant, this is the sovereign will of God.

This sermon speaks volumes -https://www.sermonaudio.com/solo/graceofruston/sermons/52009125530/ May God give light.

As James Tippins rightly says, [my paraphrase] 'warn them then leave them in their darkness

Differences of opinion that lead to iron sharpening iron are such a blessing to everyone. IOW, anything that strengthens the body of Christ is good and spiritual.
Some things though are so necessary to the gospel that differences will cause a separation of the body of Christ. These differences will and should cause division. E.G. if I said that Christ’s atonement was not sufficient, then that is a line that must divide!
Thank you Pilgrim and Amen! If I had had enough space I would gone into primary and secondary doctrine, and it is differences in secondary doctrine which should not cause a problem in fellowship. However, primary doctrine, being essential for salvation, is not negotiable, and anyone not holding to them is a heretic who must be separated from. No Christian can have fellowship with those who hold false primary doctrines. Thank you bro.

Don't forget that for good fellowship, it is not required that everyone agrees with everyone else on every point of doctrine. That is a dream, not possible.

John Uk, it was a lot of different things going on with me and not physical. I kinda felt useless there for awhile and burdened down mentally and so I feel so much better but still burdened just not letting it affect me to the point I was. I needed to get back on here because I need the fellowship.
I don’t think what Billy Graham was called to do was be a pastor either. They are evangelists and go from place to place. They never tell anyone what church to attend, they sow the word and if asked maybe but I do believe the Holy Spirit convicts and woos and leads us just as he did me.Reminds me of the prophets as they preached to the Israelites of their sins of idolatry and coming judgements. I liked Billy Graham’s preaching more than Franklin but he is doing good works in Christ’s name.

Ecumenism is one if the devils favorite ‘programs’ to show all the people how loving we all are.How deceived are those who promote it at the expense of truth.👎
Billy Graham, his family ,and the BGEA are the worlds biggest promoters of this papal dung.

Well it appears there are a few on this thread that give lip service to being anti-catholic. They would have to say catholicism is evil, but those that promote and support it are not?

You're welcome Dolores.

That must have been some bad affliction you had which prevented you from posting for such a long time. Anyway, it's good to renew fellowship, and I wish you all the best. I am watching quite a few Billy Graham videos, as I also find him to be inspirational. Franklin is also, but in a different way. I really don't think either of them would make good pastors, but when it comes to gospel preaching, excellent.

I've always appreciated the gospel preaching of Dr Billy Graham; it always comes across as urgent and simple. He always preaches the cross as the only way of salvation.

If anyone is looking for a modern way of communicating the message to a particular lost sinner, perhaps to reinforce what you have already said to them, have a look at this video presentation which includes two great testimonies interspersed with the preaching of Billy Graham at different times in his life. It is called "Heaven - A New Message by Billy Graham".

May the Lord bless this film to the salvation of many souls who come across it on YouTube.

I played basketball, too, Dolores, and still do (or at least try to) on occasion. Of course the major activities in basketball are running, jumping, throwing and shooting. There must be quite a few former basketball players on this forum. They are constantly running people down, jumping to conclusions, throwing fits and shooting off their mouth.
By the way, Dolores, I’ve never known you to stir the pot unless there was a possum in it.

So happy for you that you are no longer a bad boy on the wrong road and I see nothing wrong with watching football, just doesn’t interest me and never has except when my 2 boys played in High School. My daughter played Ist string girls Basketball and later became a coach and I attended most of games she played and coached. Her son,did not play any sports but played in the band at all the games while in High School and now he is youth pastor of his church in Little Rock and I am so proud of him. Different strokes for different folks.

What? y’all so concerned with the letter of the law y’all! You can watch football it’s fun to watch. It’s not sinful. The half time show was. Plus it’s not breaking the sabbath to watch football on Sunday. Now if you were skipping worship with brothers and sisters it would be but in most cases (as in my churches youth group) the church has a super bowl party at someone’s house and every one hangs out and watches the game.

By the way Frank if you can’t see how hurtful your remark about me stirring the pot which is actually saying that I am on here to cause trouble and agitation which is so untrue. I hate conflict especially over trivial things that are not even important. This is the first time I have been strong enough to even comment and only God knows why. Blessings Frank

Frank, you are so right I do owe you an apology and that is why I have stopped communicating with people on here that I seem to bring out the worst in by their reaction to my thoughts on a post. I have never known anyone on the Graham team to promote Catholics. Billy Graham has always said and I agree totally;
God’s Job is to Judge
Holy Spirit to convict
Our job is to love.. we don’t have to agree on every doctrine on here to love that person. But my beef is how I have been run down because I believe Franklin Graham is a man God has chosen to carry on God’s message to the world. If anyone disagrees and hates me fine but I don’t hate in return. My love for you and anyone else in Christ is still there, even in disagreement.
