Trump Proclaims National Days of Prayer and Remembrance to Honor 9/11 Victims
On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed a proclamation naming Friday, Sept. 6 thru Sunday, Sept. 8 as National Days of Prayer and Remembrance to honor the victims who were killed in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Almost 3,000 men, women, and children lost their lives when hijacked commercial aircraft crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City and at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

Another group of Americans was aboard United Flight 93. They fought back against the hijackers who had taken control of the aircraft.

Passenger Todd Beamer's final words to GTE phone operator Lisa D. Jefferson, "Let's roll," became a national catchphrase. ...

Excuse me, Jim, but you have been defending your charge of "whining about politics" from a Burmese pastor on another post. Exactly what do you call this statement below? Are you judging in the manner you expect to be judged?

Eight reasons why some people are unhappy with Mr. Trump
James Hohmann wrote:
....
“This, I believe, is one of the most important sources of America's greatness: We lead the world because, unique among nations, we draw our people – our strength – from every country and every corner of the world,” Reagan said in January 1989. “And, by doing so, we continuously renew and enrich our nation. … Thanks to each wave of new arrivals to this land of opportunity, we're a nation forever young, forever bursting with energy and new ideas, and always on the cutting edge, always leading the world to the next frontier. This quality is vital to our future as a nation. If we ever closed the door to new Americans, our leadership in the world would soon be lost.”...

Unfortunately, DF, there are many jaded by politics and the lack of success of their glorious experiment in socialism, humanism, secularism, and many other -isms.

And they lose track of their secondary calling...to be their brother's keeper in that they care as much about his hurts as they do their own.

9/11 was a wake up call to this nation. It was mildly needed. Undoubtedly, some came to true faith in Christ through that horrific experience. Americans, after all, are unaccustomed to war and the attacks with the severity of the outcome left many shaken to their core. But soon self confidence grows with a sense that all is OK now. We can offer the Serenity Prayer instead of new cries of repentence. We can mock the hurting who miss loved ones or limbs. We can dismiss the growing security state as unrelated to our daily life...for now.

It is not OK. And it will not be individually until there is faith and repentence unto life. It may never be nationally.

9/11 is so yesterday's news that few remember, or care. Instead, they pray to their gods for the success of their agendas as you suggest.

That's a good question, "QC"
I bet there are many people attending Catholic churches, Episcopal churches, Lutheran churches, Methodist churches, black churches, etc who are praying for Trump to go away. They have tried since before he was elected to get rid of him, remember the 'impeach now' efforts?, and are working 24/7 for the Democrat candidates to replace him.
The only good thing about them having so many candidates at this point is that it dilutes their strength. But after their first primaries are done and they drop about 10 to 15 candidates, it will be more and more of a constant drumbeat, "Beat TRump" and you will hear it on every TV station, see it in every newspaper, etc.

What should you have prayed for?

The remaining physical and emotional scars to heal. There is still pain.

The children who lost parents, the wives who lost husbands, and the husbands who lost wives, or the lost grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, or friends. The fallen are still missed.

For the Lord to not withdraw His hand of protection from the US. But also that in the pursuit of security that the US does not sacrifice liberty. There is still fear.

That the best weapon against this kind of attack, the sharing of the Gospel at home and abroad, would be taken up in earnest. There are still enemies whom the Lord might make into Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

Finally, that all those who ran to the Lord in the aftermath of this horror and tragedy would come to true faith and repentence in the name of the Lord Jesus. Too many are still lost. Too many are callous. Too many could care less.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen. ---Reinhold Niebuhr

Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!” Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

What do you pray for?

The Romish religion may pray for the dead to get them through purgatory?

Protestants don't do that.

So what does America pray for in connection with 9/11??

Blessing and protection from Muslim terrorists?
An increased awareness of moral standards in a fallen world?
Growth of the true church - Whilst the nation accepts antichrist religions such as Muslims?
Removal of false churches such as Episcopalians, PCUSA and sodomite Methodists, JW's, RCC..........et al.???

How about less evil politics such as the abortionist Democrat party?

Why should God listen to a nation which promotes the abomination as much as California does?

Are these prayers political or "faithful"?

May God have mercy on your souls. Amen.

It doesn't seem that Trump make an official pronouncement from the White House such as what Bush jr. did.

https://tinyurl.com/yynyhw8j

It could have went unknown in the various tweets that he does and of course not many people pay attention to CBN either.

So it may not be mentioned this Sunday from the pulpit because it just didn't catch the attention of a church leader and not because they are for or against Trump.

It will be interesting to see if the victims are mentioned in your local church's services this weekend. If they are, then some might complain the leadership is Pro-Trump, and if not, you could say they are 'Anti-Trump.'
